About the story, It's a tale written centuries ago about a monk(real person in history)'s story of traveling out west to what used to be a part of India to look for Bhuddasm scripture. The story goes that because the Monk is destined for greatness, and He's understanding of the scripture made him a being somewhat above regular human, If a monster/demon eat the monk's flesh, The demon/monster shall inherit the monk's glory and live forever. In order to protect the monk's safety on the journey, An buddasm God/Goddess(The dude is male and female at the same time) appointed 3 half spirited creatures with super powers and semi human form to protect the monk. and because of these 3 creatures had done some awful things in the past, protecting the monk will be their way to repent. As the Journey went on, the 3 creatures became apprentices to the monk. Monkey King was the No.1 Apprentice, capable of taking the form of 72 different creature/things, wield also capable of wielding a powerful metal stick that can lengthen or shorten or thicken or thinen to any desirable degree. They eventually killed a boat load of monsters and saved a yacht load of people before making the the East, and all of them became bhuddasm gods after.
